How to play Omaha

Omaha is derived from the popular game of Texas Hold’em and has very similar rules, however, with a different approach. Each player receives four hole cards of which he is required to use two with a combination of three from the five community cards to make the best 5-hand deal.

The action in Omaha starts just as in Texas Hold’em with the two players to the left of the dealer placing the small and big blinds. After the first four hole cards are dealt, the betting round commences with the player to the big blind’s immediate left. As the betting proceeds around the table, and all bets have been settled, the top card of the deck is burnt and three community cards are deal face up. This is called the Flop. Another round of betting starting from the dealer’s left and the fourth community card is placed on the table. This is known as the Turn. Another round of betting and the final community card is dealt; this round is called the River. At this point the final round of betting takes place, all bets are settled and the balance players compare hands to decide the winner.

Hands are tanked in the usual poker way with Royal Flush being the highest and the High Card being the lowest.
